Has an expressive vocabulary of 800-1500 words

 

May begin to show signs of stuttering

 

Speech is 80-85% intelligible (clear) to 

unfamiliar listeners

 

Engages in long conversation

 

No longer produces /t/ sound /k/ ex: tar for car

 

No longer produces /d/ sound /g/ ex: dirl for girl

5 to 6 Years

Communicates appropriately with adults & children

Counts to 100

Follows instructions given to a group

Knows the days of the week

Understands similarities/differences

Understands rhyming (ex: sun-fun)
